Add SNAP-Ed Custom Data to a Program Activity
Learn how to complete the SNAP-Ed custom data section for a program activity in PEARS.
If your program activity includes a SNAP-Ed program area, you will need to complete the SNAP-Ed Custom Data section. This section captures project details, curricula, intervention topics, and other SNAP-Ed-specific information.
TIP: The red asterisk * next to the heading of a field indicates that the field is required.
Navigate to SNAP-Ed Custom Data
After completing the Collaborators step, PEARS directs you to the Custom Data page. Click the SNAP-Ed tab to open the SNAP-Ed custom data form. You can also access this section from the program activity detail page by clicking Custom Data in the progress panel.
Apply a Template (if available)
If your organization has created SNAP-Ed custom data templates, you can apply a template to pre-fill the form. Select a template from the Template dropdown and the form fields will populate with the saved values.
TIP: Templates save time when you frequently create program activities with the same SNAP-Ed settings. Contact your PEARS administrator to set up templates for your organization.
Select a Primary Curriculum
In the Primary Curriculum field, select the SNAP-Ed approved curriculum that is most aligned with this program activity. This field is required.
If the appropriate curriculum is not listed, select Other and enter the curriculum name in the text field that appears.
The available curricula are filtered based on your reporting period and organization.
Select Objectives (if applicable)
In the Objectives field, select the objective(s) from your state's SNAP-Ed proposal that align with this program activity. More than one objective may be selected.
If the appropriate objective is not listed, select Other and enter the objective in the text field that appears.
Select a Funding Source (if applicable)
If the Funding Source field is available, select the funding source for this program activity from the dropdown.
NOTE: The Funding Source field is only available for organizations that have enabled this feature. If your organization requires it, this field will be marked as required.
Indicate Food Demonstration
In the Did this activity include a food demonstration/taste test? field, select Yes or No.
GLOSSARY: Food Demonstration
A food demonstration is an activity where participants observe or participate in food preparation and may sample the prepared food. This includes taste tests where participants try a food item. It does not include scenarios where food is simply provided for consumption without an educational component.
