Board Member Reviews

Learn how board members complete their performance review assessments in PEARS, including completing the survey and reviewing staff data.

This article walks through the steps for board members to complete their performance review assessments in PEARS. Board member reviews are an optional stage of the review cycle, enabled when the review plan has the Uses Board Members option turned on. During the board member window, board members complete a survey for each assigned staff member.

From the PEARS homepage, hover over the Reflect menu in the top navigation bar and click Performance Reviews. Locate the current review plan and click on it to see the list of staff members assigned to you for review.

2

Select a Staff Member

From the list of assigned staff members, click on the name of the person you want to review. This opens the board member review page for that individual.

3

Review User Information and Supporting Data

Review the staff member's information and any supporting data included in the review. Depending on the review plan configuration, this may include records from PEARS modules such as action plans, development plans, program activities, quarterly efforts, and success stories. Use this context to inform your evaluation.

4

Complete the Board Member Survey

Complete the board member survey by answering each question. The survey was selected by your administrator when creating the review plan. All required questions must be answered before you can submit.

5

Submit the Board Member Review

Review your responses and click Submit to finalize the board member review for this staff member. Your review status will change from In Progress to Complete.

Repeat this process for each staff member assigned to you.

Review Statuses

Each board member review has one of the following statuses:

  • In Progress — The board member has started but not yet submitted the review.

  • Complete — The board member has submitted the review.

  • Opted Out — The board member has chosen not to participate in the review for this staff member.

TIP: If you are unable to complete a review for a particular staff member, you may have the option to opt out. Opting out changes your review status to Opted Out and removes the requirement to submit a survey for that individual.
